What We Do

We know the student loan system is broken. Servicers lose paperwork, misapply payments, and deny forgiveness. Schools make false promises about job prospects, charge junk fees, or create surprise debts when students leave early. These problems don’t just hurt individual borrowers—they also waste taxpayer dollars and weaken higher education as a public good.

PGP was founded to change that. We use the law to fight back against servicers, lenders, colleges, and a range of third-party companies that break the rules. Our work focuses on:

Individual Representation: Helping borrowers bring cases under state and federal consumer protection laws, such as the California Student Loan Borrower Bill of Rights, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

Impact Litigation: Developing class actions to stop systemic abuses and recover funds wrongly taken from borrowers.

Investigations and Research: Building cases through data analysis, deep investigation, and public records to expose illegal schemes and push for accountability.

Our goal is simple: protect borrowers, hold bad actors accountable, and build a more fair higher education system that serves the public good

We also partner with other law firms, offering specialized expertise in higher education finance to support complex litigation and consumer cases.
